COMMON WORKSHOP
FACILITY
MSME - Development Institute, Kolkata is having three common facility workshops in the trades of
Mechanical, Heat Treatment & Ceramics. Its Branches at Suri, Durgapur
& Siliguri has similar facility in the trades of Leather/Footwear,
Mechanical & carpentry respectively. These workshops provide job-order
facilities for SSI units who can utilise the installed machinery and
manpower for their production, prototype development, testing and trial
runs by paying nominal govt. revenues chargeable on hourly machine
utilisation basis.
Mechanical Workshop
undertakes job orders for production tooling like press tools, forging
dies, plastic moulds, precision jigs & fixtures and machining of
various sophisticated precision components on CNC machine and jobbing work
on jig boring, milling, cylindrical grinding, surface grinding and lathe
machines.
Heat Treatment Workshop
undertakes job orders for Heat-treatment of different types of metals specially steel/aluminum/copper.
Ceramic Workshop
undertakes job order for crushing & grinding of Ceramic
raw materials, clay-body preparation, clay-slip preparation for casting,
pugging & de-airing, preparation of shapes by jigger-jolley &
toggle press, testing of slip & glaze by pot mill, firing of ceramic
goods etc.
Leather/Footwear Workshop
undertakes job order for shoes & chappals.
Carpentry Workshop
undertakes
Wood Cutting, shaping curving, furniture making etc.
